Back From Winter NAMM 2010

Hi DTXrs,

I wanted to touch base and let you know that we debuted the new DTX900 Series kits at the Winter NAMM Show 2010 in Anaheim, California. The response to the new kits was a huge success for us. We held a big press conference on the first day for all of the new Yamaha products that we introduced at the show. In addition to the DTX 900 Series we also debuted the CP1 keyboard. We had Zak Bond representing the new DTX kits and he did a great demo for the press. Zak, by the way, is an AMAZINGLY talented drummer. I know you have seen him on some of our video demos but seeing him play live was a real treat! At the end of the press conference Zak teamed up with Philippe Saisse (recording artist, producer, and composer) who was the artist demonstrator for the CP1. They played some really amazing stuff together. Zak also conducted demos throughout each day of the show. We also had Tom Griffin at the show who was constatantly busy demonstrating and answering questions about the new DTX900 kits, as well as the DTXMULTI-12. No one knows more about the science of electronic drumming than Tom-Tom. He continually amazed his audiences as he demoed the kits. Thanks Tom!

The Yamaha acoustic drum team debuted their new Rock Tour kits at the show, and on Friday morning held their press conference. They had Sully Erna from Godsmack play some of the Rock Tour kits. WOW! These kits kick major A**! They sound really, really, really good and LOUD!

You can check out much of what went on at the show at: www.yamaha.com/namm

We had numerous dealers and artists come to the booth during the four days and check out the new DTX900 kits. It was good fun watching them play and then hearing their reactions to the kits. We are still on target for shipping the DTX900 Series kits into the stores in March. I encourage you to go and check them out for yourselves when they arrive. I will keep you posted.

Until then, it's all about the groove; feeling good and sounding good!
