From a distance, Docker and Kubernetes can appear to be similar technologies; they both help you run applications within linux containers. If you look a little closer, youíll find that the technologies operate at different layers of the stack, and can even be used together.

Understanding both Docker and Kubernetes is essential if you want to build and run a modern cloud infrastructure. Letís take a look to see how they both fit into the world of linux containers, and how you can use them when architecting your own applications. - Software Guiders

When comparing kubernetes vs docker, you really need to define what your team hopes to achieve with a container-building tool. Both of these tools provide extensive capabilities to build virtual containers at scale, but the ways they go about it differ significantly.

Docker is a way to containerize applications so that they can run in an isolated, protected environment. The containers are portable. They can run on Windows, Mac or Linux*. You can test out a container on your laptop and then you can deploy it on your big iron server or a desktop or in the cloud for example at Amazon or Rackspace. or even Azure. You can set up a container to run one test and when you are done with it, you just delete it. I think better will be to read relevant articles about this question.
