Congratulations for being four hours ahead of the east coast.

It actually broke in Frankfurt, Germany at Musik Messe (or rather makes it debut there today through Saturday).

Here is the dtxdrums site:

Looks like a nice kit!

MSRP is $2499.99 US.

Estimated street price is $1599.99 US.

I am told it "has all the stuff needed to make it work as a controller" but I don't have documentation yet. I don't want to assume it does but I assume it does (we discussed it relative to DTXPRESS IV). I will post as soon as I am sure.

Are those inputs just the same as in DTXpress IV? At least they seem to be. http://dtxdrums.yamaha.com/library/2d_product_photo/dtxdrums/dtx550k/

Also, there are four trigger/switch -inputs (snare, chrash, ride, hihat)and four trigger/trigger -inputs (toms1-3 and kick). Does e.g. a Roland two-zone snare pad work in these trigger/trigger inputs correctly?
I would like to have two chokeable crashes and it means sacrificing the snare input for the second crash, if I've understood right.

Looks like just a DTX4 module with a new cover. Maybe they updated the sounds or probably just compatability with the new 'XP' pads.

"10" DTX-PAD Snare Drum with 3 Zones on the Skin and 2 on the Rim"
This I find interesting.....3 zones on skin and 2 on rim....this mean positional sensing??? TOMTOM is this mis-print or do new pads have postional sensing ro something?
